2006 PHOENIX (CLIPS)

Phoenix was invited to close the 2006 Dashanzi International Art Festival at the 798 Art District in Beijing, China. The dance drama tells the story of five characters: Wood木, Fire火, Earth土, Metal金, and Water水. Wood loses her child, Fire love, Earth his sanity, Metal his body, and Water must take shape again. The drama is inspired by the ancient tale of 凤凰涅磐. The actual dance drama is 59 minutes long and here are some clips from each act. Act 5 features Wang Yabin 王亚彬, well-known performer who danced in the film House of Flying Daggers 2004.
